How many times a year is considered normal to get colds and flu's?

On average, an adult contracts a common cold virus approximately 2-4 times per year, a school aged child approximately six times, and an infant as many as eight times per year. It is estimated that 40% of time lost from work and 30% of school absences are due to the common cold.

The primary season for colds is typically between late August and April and for flu’s between January and February. However, you could catch a colds and/or flu at any time of year, especially if your immune system is compromised due to traveling or an illness.

Tips for maintaing health while travelling are available here. Read this post to find out the difference between cold, flu's and allergies.
