One of my favourite ways to speed up muscle repair and promote muscle relaxation is by taking magnesium. Magnesium has many important functions in our body and is regarded as nature’s most powerful relaxation mineral. A large percentage of our population is deficient; profuse sweating, stress, and a low nutrient diet are all ways we can become depleted which can lead to other issues such as insomnia, headache, high blood pressure, and other inflammatory conditions. Not all magnesium supplements work the same so chose a bis-glycinate, chelate or malate form for optimal results. To maximize absorption take it away from other minerals such as iron. Food sources high in magnesium include nuts and seeds, legumes/beans, and green leafy vegetables.
