Most people are familiar with Lavender (Lavandula officinalis) in its essential oil form but the actual herb itself can be a powerful medicine. Its specific uses are for sedation and to reduce feelings of anxiety, restlessness and insomnia. Lavender can be made into a tea or placed into bath water. It has bitter qualities which can be helpful with digestive upset but some people might not enjoy the strong taste so start with small amounts.
